History of IPA

In mid 1990, a group of friends started to have a biweekly lunch in San Jose/Sunnyvale area. In the following 6 months, this informal group developed a passion for sharing mutual business and professional interests. From the original size of 20 participants, this biweekly gathering grew to over 60 members in January 1991. To accomodate this growing interest, it was decided that a more formal organization would be needed. In a Round Table Pizza's meeting room in Sunnyvale on January 21, 1991, meeting participants commisioned an Executive Committee to explore the formation and registration of such an organization. On February 2, 1991, the Indonesian Professionals Association became a registered non-profit organization in the State of California.
